Umphako Bakery School
Street children have no roof over their heads and usually nothing to eat. This daily fight for survival is a bitter reality for many young people in Cape Town.
Therefore, Bread Against Misery decided to financially support a special project. “Ons Plek” (“A place for us”). The girls call it: “the safe-house” where they live. Here they are mentally cared for, receive a school education and learn to produce baked goods.
All of this help them find a place in society, when they leave home between the ages of 18-21.
